1. Purpose
This agreement regulates participation in guided dog sledding organized by Geilo Mushing. The agreement aims to ensure safety, animal welfare, and clarify responsibilities between the organizer and the participant.
2. Participant's responsibilities
- The participant must follow all instructions given by the guide at all times.
- The participant must provide relevant health information (injuries, illnesses, allergies) prior to the start of the tour.
- The participant is responsible for wearing appropriate clothing and being prepared for weather and trail conditions.
- The use of intoxicants (alcohol or drugs) before or during the activity is strictly prohibited.
- The participant must behave calmly and respectfully towards the dogs.
3. Organizer's responsibilities
- Geilo Mushing provides qualified guides, training, and necessary safety equipment.
- Geilo Mushing is responsible for the welfare of the dogs and ensuring that equipment and sleds are in proper condition.
- Geilo Mushing will facilitate the activity to the best of its ability but cannot guarantee against unforeseen incidents.
4. Risks
- Dog sledding involves physical activity and travel in natural environments and may entail risks such as falls, cold exposure, injuries from dogs, equipment, or terrain.
- The participant acknowledges and accepts these risks.
5. Insurance
- Geilo Mushing recommends that the participant has valid travel and accident insurance.
- The organizer's insurance only covers what is legally required and does not cover participants' personal belongings or health-related expenses.
6. Liability disclaimer
- Geilo Mushing disclaims responsibility for injuries to the participant or their belongings that may occur during the activity, unless caused by gross negligence on the part of the organizer.
- The participant is liable for damages they may cause to dogs, equipment, or other participants through negligent behavior.
7. Cancellations
7.1 Cancellations by the organizer:
- Geilo Mushing reserves the right to cancel or change the activity due to weather conditions, safety concerns, or other factors beyond the organizer's control.
- In the event of cancellation by the organizer, the participation fee will be refunded minus the booking fee.
7.2 Cancellations by the participant:
- Cancellation up until 7 days prior to the scheduled date: Full refund minus booking fee (6%).
- Cancellation between 7 and 2 days prior: 50% of the participation fee will be refunded.
- Cancellation less than 2 days prior: No refund.
- No-show without notice: No refund.
8. Privacy
The participant agrees that Geilo Mushing may take photos during the activity. If the participant does not wish to be photographed, this must be communicated in advance.
9. Consent
By accepting, the participant confirms that he/she has read, understood, and accepted the terms of this agreement and acknowledges that participation is at their own risk.
